At just 41-years-old Chester Bennington felt as though he could go on no longer. Struggling with the loss of close friend, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, a rocky past of battling addiction and the constant pressures of being a big name, touring celebrity pushed the Linkin Park frontman to the edge.


Chester took his life on what would have been the 53rd birthday of Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell had he not ended his life the very same way earlier, this very same year.

Chester leaves a huge family of six children and wife Talina Ann Bentley behind leading many fans and followers to question his shocking decision to end it all. While many may not be able to relate to such a depreciating feeling, that doesnt mean they Chester’s battle was not very real.

Guitarist/keyboardist Mike Shinoda took to Facebook on behalf of the group to share some very kind although heartbreaking words with the world about the loss of his friend and bandmate.


Bennington, singer of Linkin Park, he accomplished so much on stage – first with Dead by Sunrise where he would go on to front Stone Temple Pilots from 2013 to 2015 as well. Chester was also an an actor, appearing in films such as SAW and Crank. Bennington may not have felt it at the time but he was loved and idolized by many. Rest In Paradise, Chester.
