The evolution of greatness might not be a subject that you often ponder but today, Kendrick Lamar and Kobe Bryant, two the world’s greatest men are offering their best advice on what it takes to win.
There may not be two better dudes than Kobe and Kendrick to discuss the logistics of being the best you can be. seriously.
When Kobe Bryant retired in April 2016, he had amassed five NBA championships, made 18 All-Star rosters, was a 15-time member of the All-NBA Team and was voted to the All-Defensive Team 12 times. (Holy accomplishments)
The two-time scoring champion, ranks third on the all-time regular season scoring list as well as ranking fourth in post-season scoring.
Kobe holds the NBA record for most seasons played with one franchise for an entire career. That’s not all either. Bryant was the first guard in league history to play for at least 20 seasons.
It’s safe to say that Kobe has got this “greatness” thing all figured out!
No everybody knows that Kendrick Lamar has made is own lane to be great in. He is by far one of the most respected rappers on the map.
Kenrick refers to his musical creations as “human music,”in which he proudly uses his talents to make a difference, preaching social justice and change in such a way that people really listen and hear it.
Even President Obama is inspired by Lamar! He made this clear when he invited K-Dot to sit down and speak with him about a few issues he holds close to his heart before leaving office.
Kendrick made Time magazine’s notorious list of ‘Most Influential People’ and it’s safe to say he earned it!
You see, he ONLY has like 7 Grammys, an ASCAP Vanguard Award as a composer, two civic awards, countless VMAs, Billboard, BET, iHeart Music, NCAAP Image awards…, that’s it.😉
In case you lost count, that’s a total of 61 awards and 152 nominations. Like Kobe, to call Kendrick “great” is also an understatement.
Who wouldn’t want to listen to what made these men who they are; how they strived for the greatness they achieved and how neither one is finished climbing the mountain?
Complex figured out that there aren’t many people who wouldn’t be inspired by listening to these two men, so they put them together on stage to talk about those exact topics.
