The kidnapping of the “Chibok girls” occurred just over two years ago in April of 2014. This devastating incident triggered the #BringBackOurGirls campaign. Rumor has it that the release of 21 of the innocent victims was negotiated between Boko Haram and the International Committee of the Red Cross along with the Swiss government. Although sources have not released the full details of the negotiation one thing is for sure, the government released four imprisoned militants
The girls who have returned are feeling more thankful and blessed than ever before and although they return with both physical and emotional scars from their two-year imprisonment, most of the women express joy and enthusiasm over starting back where they left off and continuing on with their lives.
